Speedway postpones Monster Truck Show
Circle Track Management Group, promoters of the Tyler County Speedway made the decision last week to reschedule the Monster Truck show and mud bog scheduled for July 7 to a later date. With thousands of West Virginia residents still suffering from the treacherous storm that left every resident in Tyler County without power along with the majority of the state, officials felt it be in the best interest of the local community to reschedule Michael Vaters Monster Truck show to a later date.
As local businesses strive to get reopened and with thousands still reeling from the effects of the power outage and being scorched by an unprecedented heatwave that have temps ranging from 95-100 degrees daily, CTMG felt in the best interest of all involved to look to a future date that would be more fan friendly.
“With the forcasted heat on Saturday expected to reach record highs of over 100 degrees and with several thousand nearby residents still without power, we just didn’t feel right about trying to have an event this weekend” stated Frank Wilson Jr.
“We are still negotiating with Michael Vaters about bringing his Monster Truck Show to Tyler County Speedway in 2012 but are unsure as of press time”.
Fans can look for an announcement very soon.
Race fans can be sure to get their racing fix on July 14 though as the Tyler County Speedway will come back with a vengeance as the Bullring will welcome the Renegades of Dirt Modified Tour back for the 8th running of the Dickson Classic. The $2,000 to win/ $200 to start event is expected to attract the regions best Modified Hot Shoes. See Bart Hartman, Bobby Kitchens, Lance Elson, Deanna Groves, Mark and Travis Dickson, Jess Hartman and many more stars of the TSMA Modified division.
