Marshall volleyball camp is hosted

By Staff | Jul 3, 2012

The Tyler Consolidated High School and Middle School volleyball programs will be hosting a volleyball camp taught by Marshall University head volleyball coach Mitch Jacobs and staff, July 30 – Aug. 2.

This camp is limited to 32 campers per session with the high school session to take place from 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. each day, and the middle school session running from 12:30 p.m. until 3 p.m. daily.

Cost of the camp is $75 per camper, and the camp is open to any and all participants.

Coach Jacobs brings 20 years of camp direction to the Thundering Herd camps, and will run the camps under the philosophy that all campers have the opportunity to improve their skills through strong fundamental teaching as well as advanced technique training.

Jacobs has worked within the USAV youth programs over his 20 years of coaching. In the Huntington area, he and the Marshall program have been the force behind a 400 percent increase in USAV participation over the past eight years.

Early registration is encouraged by picking up a registration form at the Sistersville Public Library or at the front office at Tyler Consolidated.

Registration forms and checks (made out to Mitch Jacobs) should be mailed to: Coach Summers, 950 Maple Lane, Sistersville, WV, 26175. For more information contact Tracy Summers at 304-771-4723.
