Speedway revamps schedule

By Staff | Jun 27, 2012

Circle Track Management Group, promoters of the Tyler County Speedway and Cannonball Speedway have revamped a few events on the 2012 racing schedule. After the highly successful1st ever Bullring Bonanza at the “Bullring”, promoters have set their sites on the coolest crown jewel on the planet, the Black Diamond 125 on Labor day weekend. As the summers sizzling heat continues to rise so does the racing action leading up to the fan favorite Black Diamond event. A three day festival of speed awaits as does over $180,000 in purse money, making the Black Diamond the richest short track event in America.

But before the Labor day extravaganza a few changes to the 2012 racing schedule has been announced. First the previously scheduled HickFest Clash by the Creek Mud Bog has been rescheduled from June 16 and has been added to the July 7, Carnival of Chaos Monster Truck event. A huge day of gearhead action with a mud bog during the day and the Michael Vaters Monster Truck show to highlight the evening along with a full night of racing action.

The 8th Annual Dickson Classic presented by AM Commodities originally scheduled for June 30 has been moved to July 14 as part of a huge modified open wheel Renegade of Dirt Modified modified tour tripleheader beginning at the $1,500 to win Richard Skidmore Memorial at Elkins Speedway on Friday, the $2,000 to win Dickson Classic on Saturday, and the $2,000 to win Jamboree on Dirt at Cannonball Speedway on Sunday, July 16th.

The rest of the 2012 Tyler County Speedway Schedule looks to be just as exciting.

On June 30 it’s Stars and Stripes Night at the Speedway, featuring a gigantic fireworks display and racing in all classes.

July 7 will bring the HickFest Twenty Twelve Clash by the Creek Mud Bog and Red Neck X Games. The truck eating mud bog pit and blazing fast speed pit will push participants to the breaking point as they battle for cash prizes. Registration will begin at 10 a.m. with the mud bog to start at noon. The Carnival of Chaos Monster Truck Madness will have a free pit party from 4-5:30 p.m. See Monster trucks “Higher Education” the monster truck School Bus and fan favorite, Black Stallion, plus Freestyle FMX and Kamikaze Jet Quad. Also EDGE Crate Late Models, Hotmods, ModLites, 4-Cylinders and MWRA in racing action.

The 8th Annual Dickson Classic presented by AM Commodities Renegades of Dirt Modified Tour will be held on July 14. See the nation’s best modified drivers converge on the Ohio Valley for a triple header weekend as the Renegades of Dirt tour visits the Bullring in conjunction with the Elkins Speedway and Cannonball Speedway.

Rock the Vote Bike Night will be sponsored at the track on July 21, when fans who ride their bike to the races get in for free. “The Fans First Interactive Event” that will put the event in control of Tyler County Speedway Facebook fans, from show format to concession menu to fan favorite driver crash bonus and more! The night will feature pre-race live music and “Tats for Tickets”. Get a Bullring tattoo and receive a Black Diamond pit pass. Plus, Wood County Hometown Heroes night.
