Area youth participate in Knights’ basketball camp
The Tyler Consolidated Silver Knight basketball program sponsored a youth basketball camp June 11-14, in the high school gym, for girls and boys in second through seventh grades.
The camp was ran by Knight head coach J.C. Kimble, coach Bob Jones and several Silver Knight varsity and junior varsity players, and included a camp T-shirt and lunch every day.
More than two dozen campers attended the home town camp, receiving individual, one-on-one skill and fundamental training and participated in drills and basketball instruction in a learning developmental environment.
“We just want the kids to be playing basketball,” said director of the camp, J.C. Kimble. “We don’t care if they do it at home, at a friends, at another camp, or here. We want them to have a basketball in their hands, continue to learn and strive for improvement in their game, and have some fun.”
Participating in the camp were: Riley Hoder, Cora Grimm, George Tennant, Katie Miller, Dylan Seckman, Levi Smith, Amanda Reynolds, Trent Smith, Miranda Weekley, Kenna Smith, Isis Moore, Branden Bonar, Mark Wilson, Joralda Rice, Romana Rice, Olivia Aumack, Peyton Kocher, Julianna Miller, Josey Jones, Chase VanDyne, Noah Smith, Josh Frum, Jarrett LeMasters, Gage Potoczny, Riley George, Havanah LeMasters, and Parker George.
Assistants helping out at camp included: Dylan Romine, Dylan Reynolds, Bobby Moore, Josh Smith, Tim Edwards, Chase Cornell, Cole Kocher, Kerstyn Cline, Torrye Cline, Kyle Frum and Darren Weekley.
