By Staff | May 2, 2012

For the third week in a row Tyler County Speedway track officials have regretfully had to pull the plug on Saturday night racing action and forcing the postponement of the Wilson Law Offices 18th Annual Topless 50 for the second consecutive week. After two super successful opening events on the highly anticipated 2012 campaign, Mother Nature has been unstoppable, scoring a trifecta of victories.

The prestigious 18th Annual Topless 50 has been rescheduled for May 19, paying $4,000 to win and creating a very historic weekend of Topless action in the Mid-Ohio Valley region. A three night event featuring Topless action at the Elkins Speedway, Tyler County Speedway and the much anticipated re-opening of the Cannonball Speedway will await topless late model fans. A three night slate will see the debut of the EDGE Crate Late Model “Adrenalin Tour” at the Elkins Speedway on May 18 paying the victor $1,000 with the EDGE Late Models hitting the highbanks of the’bullring’ in night two action also parlaying a $1,000 check to the winner.

The bad boys of the Super Late Model division will crank it up on May 19 as a giant night at the Tyler County Speedway will see the running of the popular Wilson Law Offices 18th Annual Topless 50. A big weekend is expected as all eyes look to the Middlebourne oval as the Topless 50 will serve as a warm-up to the Memorial weekend Bullring Bonanza and the running of the $25,000 to win “Jackpot 100”. As an added bonus to the weekend festivities the highly coveted “Jackpot 100” and “Let it Ride 55” provisionals will be up for grabs, making the stakes even bigger on the 19th.

Not got enough Topless action yet? How about we round out the Topless Weekend with the re-launch of the Cannonball Speedway in St. Clairsville, Ohio on May 20 for the $3,000 to win Topless 35. Eager race fans will be greeted back to the re-configured Buckeye State Speedplant as the first Sunday Shootout Series event of the season dubbed the “Resurrection Season Opener” will officially take the green on the 2012 schedule. Gates open at 3 p.m., with hotlaps rolling off at 6 p.m. Also be sure to check out Cannonball Speedway on May 6 and 13 for two open Test n’ Tune sessions as racers and fans are invited to shake down the track in preparation for the Summers Sunday Ticket to Fun.
