Knights fall to Blue Eagles
The season is all but over for the Tyler Consolidated Silver Knight varsity baseball team, with only a few make-up games and an LKC placement game to play before post-season hits him square in the schedule.
At this point in the season, the Knight win loss record stands at 6-16, with an undetermined number of games yet to play, depending on scheduling and weather.
Last week, the Silver and Black took on two opponents, falling to both in five innings apiece.
On April 12, the Consolidated team played host to the Magnolia Blue Eagles, taking the loss on the chin, 18-3.
The Eagles “fored” themselves into the win column with four runs scored in each of the first four innings to take the 16-0 lead at the end of four. The Silver scored three runs in the fifth inning to notch the scoreboard.
On the mound, Dalton Parsons walked seven Magnolia batters and struck out three.
At the plate, hits were collected by Koty Martin who doubled for an RBI; Evan Davis, doubled; and Isaac Michael and Tyler Highley each singled in the effort for the home team.
Playing at Williamstown on April 16, the Silver Knights fell to the home team to the tune of 24-4. The Maroon put 18 points on the scoreboard in the third and fourth innings to put paid to Knight hopes.
Senior Dalton Wells controlled the mound for Consolidated in the game, walking four and striking out six.
Junior Koty Martin homered for the Knights for the highlight of the day and Michael singled.
The Silver Knights have a game scheduled at Ritchie County on Friday and hope to play at Frontier in a double header on Saturday.
