Cheerleaders headed to state
The Paden City High School varsity cheerleaders placed runner-up at the West Virginia Class AA Region I Cheerleading Championships held at Fairmont East High School on Saturday. The Wildcats turned in an excellent performance at the competition and placed behind first place Bishop Donahue and will represent the Region at the West Virginia State Cheerleading Championships on Dec. 10 in Charleston.
Paden City competed against Bishop, Calhoun, Cameron, Gilmer, Hundred, Madonna, Paden City, St. Marys, Valley and Wheeling Central. Members of the Wildcat squad, coached by Rachel Stoneking include: seniors – Dominique Craft and Taylor Parsons; juniors – Tiffany Palmer and Lynnsie Parsons; sophomore – Josie Fox; and freshmen – Hannah Stanley, Madison Pierce, Tori Anderson and Kayla Hizer.
“I’m very proud of the girls,” Stoneking said. “We’re so excited to be able to go to state and compete.”
