Tyler Consolidated’s Cross Country boys and girls teams had a pretty busy week, with a meet at Doddridge on Sept. 13 and a Saturday competition in New Martinsville at the “Mudhole Invitational” on Saturday.

Starting out at Doddridge, the high school girls turned in some very gutsy performances.

With 105 girls participating in the race, Marisa Gogan and Kelly Rice pushed through the course. Gogan finished with a time of 25:53 in 30th position overall and Rice came in 65th in 29:28. Rei Yasunaga (96th/34:05) finished strong on the hilly course with Stephanie Wright (101st/35:45) close behind.

In the boys competition, sophomore Ryan Dalrymple worked his way through 125 competitors to place first for the Silver in 22:39 in 64th position, with Sean Camerlin finishing 81st in 23:46 and Devon Thompson, 109th in 27:14, finishing strong.

The Consolidated middle school girls had 127 runners to compete with and finished ninth of 11 complete teams. Alexis Chambers crossed the finish line in 23rd position in 14:30, with her best showing of the year. Amber Watson finished 35th in 13:10 following that up with one of her own. Belle Camerlin placed 62nd in 16:10; Juliana Miller, 63rd in 16:11; Becky Bolin 68th in 16:25 and Megan Sole, 74th in 16:43, all finishing in a tight group.

Kaylee Hulin placed 93rd with a time of 17:45; Joralda Rice, 101st in 18:24; and Cosette Bantug, 111th in 19:31, pushed through to the finish followed by the pack of Mira Eller(121/21:42), Kellsi Anderson (122/21:51), and Vanessa Templeton (123/21:57).

Ninety-five middle school boys toed the line, with Evan Shreve turning in the first Knight result in 33rd overall position in 13:28. Following closely were Adam Cooper in 50th with a time of 14:20; Creed Eller (59th/15:07) and Josh Frum (61st/15:12).

On Saturday, the four Knight cross country teams traveled to the Magnolia course for the “Mudhole Invitational”. The high school girls started the day against 103 total runners, qualifying 14th out of 14 teams.

Marisa Gogan led out the Knights, again, finishing with a time of 23:57 in an overall 39th position among the field. Kelly Rice turned in her best showing of the season with a time of 26:25 in 66th. Lauren Seckman (93rd/29:50) finished strong followed by Rei Yasunaga (99th/31:46) and Stephanie Wright (102nd/32:29).

Finishing well in a field of 107 competitors, Silver Knight Ryan Dalrymple placed 42nd overall in the high school boys division with a time of 20:15. Not far off his pace was Sean Camerlin in (62nd/21:50) and Devon Thompson(97th/24:170).

The Lady Knight middle school girls pulled off a fifth place out of the nine team finishers. Amongst the 115 total girls running, Amanda Reynolds showed best for the Knights with an 11th place finish in 16:57, followed closely by Alexis Chambers in 17:26 in 18th place and Amber Watson (21st/17:40).
