‘Cats record stands at 12-3

Winning is on the schedule for the Lady Wildcats of Paden City High School these days, as the varsity volleyball team is turning in some excellent performances of late. The Lady ‘Cats are 12-3 at this point in the season and show no sign of slowing down.

At Cameron on Sept. 13 the Green and White took the match in two games, 25-16 and 25-19.

Lynnsie Parsons scored 12 points, one ace; Amanda Heasley scored 11 points; Logan Cosper, eight points, one ace; Graeson Baker, eight points; Haley Hizer, five points; Dominique Craft, four points, one ace; and Kelsey Loy scored two points. Defensively in the game, Craft had 10 killstwo blocks and four digs; Heasley, eight kills, one block and two digs; Loy, two kills; Parsons, one kill, three digs; Hizer, one kill, two digs; Josie Fox, two digs; Baker, one dig.

Still at Cameron on Sept. 13 Paden City won over Morgantown Trinity Christian by scores of 32-30 and 25-16.

Senior Amanda Heasley was on her game with 17 points, four kills, one block and one dig; Graeson scored 10 points and had four digs; Parsons scored seven, had three kills and five digs; Cosper scored seven, had one kill, and three digs; Craft scored six, had five kills and six digs; Hizer scored four and had three digs, Fox had three digs.

Cosper had 47 good sets in the game and 16 assists.

On Sept. 15 the Lady Wildcats played Morgantown Trinity at Valley, defeating them in two straight games, 25-14 and 25-21.

Hizer led the team in points, scoring 12 and three aces. She also had three digs. Heasley added 11 points, had nine kills, two blocks and two digs; Craft scored eight, had nine kills, one block and six digs; Baker, seven points, three digs; Logan, seven points, seven digs; Parsons scored four points, had two kills, one block and six digs; Fox had one kill and six digs; Loy had one dig.

Cosper set the ball 45 times in the match, and was credited with 16 assists.

Against their hosts, Paden City handed the Jills the loss in two, 25-9 and 25-13.

Heasley scored 17 points, had three kills and three digs; Hizer scored nine and had two digs; Parsons scored seven, had five kills, and two digs; Megan Pierce scored five points and had two digs; Cosper scored four points and had three digs; Graeson, three points, three digs; Craft, two points, 16 kills, four blocks and six digs; Tori Anderson, one kill, one dig; Fox, one dig; Hannah Stanley, one dig; Loy, one dig.

Cosper had 45 sets and 21 assists in the game.

Hosting Bridgeport on Monday at Bob Burton Gymnasium, the ‘Cats again added to the win column with the wins, 25-12, 25-12 and 25-8.

Parsons led the way in the scoring department, putting 15 on the scoreboard and one ace. She also had 10 kills and seven digs. Hizer scored 14 points, one ace, had one kill and four digs; Baker added 11 points and had four digs; Cosper scored 10 points, one ace, had two digs, 62 sets and 25 assists; Craft earned nine points, two aces, had five kills and seven digs; Heasley scored nine, two aces, had 14 kills and three digs; Loy added a point, had six kills and a dig; and Fox had two digs.

The Lady Wildcats will play again on Sept. 22 when they host Wheeling Central and will play host to Cameron on Sept. 26.
