Youth BB camp to be held
The Knight Youth Basketball Camp will be held again this year at the Tyler Consolidated High School gym. This year’s camp will be held June 27 – 30 with all participants receiving lunch and a T-shirt.
The cost of the camp will be $30 and is for second through seventh grade students, boys and girls, of any skill level. The Tyler Consolidated boys basketball team will provide coaching at the camp.
Interested individuals are asked to send campers name, address, phone number, grade level, age, size of shirt and registration fee to: Coach Kimble, 1993 Silver Knight Drive, Sistersville, WV 26175.
Youth football sign-ups held in July
The Tyler County Youth Football League will be holding sign-ups for football and cheerleading on June 25 and July 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the old SHS football field. Boys and girls entering grades second through sixth grades are encouraged to sign-up.

The first practice will be held on July 25 at 6 p.m.
The sign-up fee will be $40 per child and $60 for two children from the same family.
Center to host summer basketball league
This summer the Stealey Green Center will be hosting a summer basketball league. It will run from July 5 through August and be held at the Stealey Green Center in Middlebourne. There are 3 age groups: 3rd and 4th grade; 5th and 6th grade; and 7th and 8th grade. Anyone interested should contact Dan Seckman at 304-758-2132.
Softball clinic scheduled for June 28-29
The Lady Knights softball team will host instructional clinics for girls in grades 6-12 on June 28 and 29.
Clinics will be held on the softball field from 9 a.m. until noon. IN the vent of rain, participants will meet in the high school commons area.
The clinic schedule is as follows:
– June 28, “All Aspects of the Game”
Clinician, Mike Fahey, a 35 year fastpitch veteran and his Diamond Queen Staff will teach the fundamentals of the game: pitching, catching, throwing, hitting and baserunning.
– June 29, “Fundamentals of Hitting”
2011 Class “AA” State Champs – Ritchie County Rebels Head Coach, Dave Mossor, will instruct p[layers on the fine points of hitting, including: bunting, slapping, dragging and hitting for power.
Free lunch will be provided for all participants. There is no fee for the clinic.
Players should bring a glove and cleats (tennis shoes for indoors). Be sure
to put your name on any personal items: glove, batting gloves, bat, water bottle,
helmet or catcher’s gear.
