Wins evade 2011 Wildcats
Still looking for their first win of the 2011 basketball season, the Wildcat varsity boys basketball team of Paden City continues to battle.
At this point in the season the ‘Cats have 10 losses, but are playing determined ball and continue to grow.
On Jan. 14 the team played host to Beallsville at Bob Burton Gymnasium, falling 58-27 in the effort.
Senior Zach Yost turned in an excellent scoring performance for the Wildcats, putting up 19 points. He also was credited with one rebound, one steal and one assist.
Geoffrey Bidwell added three points to the scoreboard and had two steals. Trey Leonard scored two points and pulled down eight boards; Jamie Billiter scored two, had three rebounds and two steals; Taylor Still connected on a foul shot, had two rebounds and one steal.
John Bates was credited with three rebounds; Jefferson Palmer had one rebound; Drew Bidwell stole the ball twice and had one assist; and Austin Quinn had one steal.
With eight or ten games left on their schedule, the determined Wildcats will strive for improvement as Sectional and Regional games approach.
The Wildcats will host Cameron on Friday and Bishop Donahue on Jan. 25.
