Monster trucks set to invade Tyler speedway

ON THE BRINK OF DESTRUCTION — The Black Stallion will be in the show along with the Iron Warrior at the Tyler County Speedway on Friday.

If fun, affordable family fun, close to home is what you are looking for this summer, the Tyler County Speedway has what you are looking for this 4th of July Weekend.

A double header weekend featuring something for everybody has the Bullring as the place to be as the Eve of Destruction Monster Trucks, Fireworks and big time stock car racing will wow fans of all ages. A huge weekend is in store at the regions most exciting speed plant as we celebrate America with a double dose weekend of edge of your seat entertainment.

It all kicks off on Friday night, July 3, as the crowd favorite ‘Eve of Destruction’ monster truck show will entertain with car crushing excitement along with a full night of devastation and racing action. Michael Vater’s nationally known Black Stallion and Iron Warrior will be on hand and competing in high octane car crushing competition.

Some of Michael Vaters’ Black Stallion Monster Truck Highlights include: seven time USHRA Thunder Nationals champion, five time USHRA world finalist, six time Monster Spectacular champion, finishing third in freestyle competition out of the 20 best trucks in the country at the televised 2005 Monster Jam world finals in Las Vegas, the first monster truck to successfully jump another monster truck driving forward in 1999, and being first truck to successfully jump another monster truck driving in reverse setting a world record distance of 70 feet in 2002 at Indianapolis, Indiana.

Also on the Eve of Destruction card will be a Ride Truck for the kids to enjoy and “Psycho” the jet powered four-wheeler will be on hand. “Psycho” as featured on Monsters Garage, will display powerful 1,500 horse power jet engines that will strike awe into the crowd with thrust and burner pops as the jet engines shoot out flames over twenty five feet as it speeds by the spectators. Watch “Psycho’s” powerful flames destroy a salvage car in mere seconds.

The thrilling Freestyle MotoX will soar high above the bullring with extreme tricks and stunts that are always a real crowd pleaser. Freestyle MotoX is one of the most popular and rapidly growing action motorsport attractions today as the high flying freestyle motocross riders will thrill spectators with their gravity defying stunts performed in mid-air while jumping 65′ gaps steel ramp to steel ramp. If you enjoy ESPN’s X-games and motorcycling, you don’t want to miss this one!

As if that isn’t enough, at intermission we will salute America with a huge fireworks extravaganza as we celebrate the 4th of July Tyler County Speedway style. Also for the children, McDonald’s Kids Club Picnic Olympics featuring sack races, watermelon eating and more will be held prior to action getting underway.

Still not enough? The nation’s best mod lite racers will converge at the bullring for the running of the 1st Annual Wayside Furniture Mod Lite Short Track Nationals as well. Each night will see a complete show featuring a $700 to win $100 to start main event and the smooth high bank bullring that allows three- and four-wide racing will test the best the mod lite division has to offer. Plus the FASTRAK Late Models, Pure Stocks, Junkyard Warriors, and Mini wedges will showcase their skills throughout the evening as well.

You won’t want to miss the Eve of Destruction as a full night of thrills, chills, and spills and edge of your seat racing excitement will be presented at an affordable family price of just $13 for adults and $5 for children. Gates open at 3 p.m., and the show gets underway at 6:30.
