Lady Silver Knights fall against Cadets

MUSGRAVE LOVE — Chelsea Musgrave had a strong game against Linsly as she dropped in 15 points to pace the Lady Silver Knights.
With weather showing its ugly effects once again, schedules have been affected and has limited local teams from getting on the court.
Because of school cancellations last week, the only game Tyler Consolidated’s Lady Silver Knights were able to play was Monday in Wheeling against the Linsly Cadets.
Despite a 15-point performance by Chelsea Musgrave, the Lady Cadets were able to down the Knights by a score of 55-39.
After losing the first quarter 17-8, Tyler Consolidated looked to get a head start in the second stanza with a bucket by Sami Jones after she was able to pull down the rebound, but Linsly was able to reply with a layup.
The two schools would then exchange foul shots before two field goals by the hosts put the Knights down 25-11.
Musgrave then took matters into her own hands and reeled off the game’s next six points. The first was close to being a three, but a foot just inside the line on the right wing made it two. Her second was assisted nicely by Christy Jones at the point while Musgrave snuck along the baseline, and her third came way of the same area as she picked up the loose ball and dropped it in to make it 25-17.
Again Tyler Consolidated was on the verge of making the comeback, but were quickly silenced by three consecutive baskets for Linsly. A score by Lynsey Castell made the score 31-19 at the break.
In the second half, Linsly came out on fire scoring the first seven points before Keri Suter hit a foul shot. The Cadets run would continue with another three.
Christy Jones finally provided Tyler Consolidated with a field goal in similar fashion to Musgrave, with a foot just inside the wing of the three-point line, but on the left side.
Both squads alternated three foul shots before Musgrave hit an off-balance shot to close out the third quarter at 42-26.
In similar style to the third, Linsly came out on fire in the fourth with the first five points. Keri Suter then nailed a three on the right side, but would be answered by a Linsly deuce.
Five straight foul shots were scored by Tyler Consolidated late, but after another field goal and two foul shots by Linsly, the Knights were facing defeat.
Musgrave scored two of the final three baskets with Heather Suter getting the other one to set the final score up at 55-39. Musgrave led the team as the only girl in double figures. Both Keri and her sister Heather aided the Knights with eight points a piece. Sami Jones scored three, followed by both Christy Jones and Casteel had two.
