TC Archery Wins First Place
Tyler Consolidated High School Archers headed to John Marshall High School Saturday and put forth a valiant effort to qualify for States. Though they came up short for a qualifying team score they did have several archers shoot personal records and earned a First Place Team finish at the tournament.
Shooting a Team Score of 3175 the Knights were led by Senior Archer Dane Nelson with a new personal record score of 284 earning a second place finish. Freshman Archer Gracie Watson shot her personal record score of 279 and earned a second place finish. Junior Archer Walker Ramsey earned a 10th place finish with a score of 273 and Senior Archer Lily Thompson earned a 7th place finish with a score of 269.
Honorable Mentions went to Senior Skyler Wright personal record 251, Freshman Caroline Mason personal record 253 and Junior Trevor Hakes personal record 261.
With the goal of earning a qualifying score to the State Tournament closed the Knights can still hold their heads high as they finished ranked 9th out of 31 High Schools. The Knights have two more tournaments on their schedule March 14th at Ritchie County and March 21st at Parkersburg South.
Head Coach Dave Stoller will know soon what individual archers will qualify for States and once it’s official they will be posted.
