Silver Knights Fall in Double-Overtime Thriller

By Randy Rutherford - Sports Writer | Feb 11, 2026

The Tyler Consolidated Silver Knights went toe-to-toe with the Williamstown Yellowjackets on Thursday, February 5, at the Castle, but came up just short in a hard-fought 68-65 double-overtime loss.

Tyler Consolidated set the tone early, edging out a 15-14 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Silver Knights carried that momentum into the second period, pushing their advantage to 35-30 by halftime behind steady offense and disciplined defense.

Williamstown answered after the break, flipping the script in the third quarter. The Yellowjackets surged ahead with a strong run and took a 53-47 lead into the final period, putting pressure on the home team.

The Silver Knights refused to fold. Tyler Consolidated battled back in the fourth quarter, making timely plays on both ends of the floor. When regulation came to a close, the teams were deadlocked at 59-59, sending the game into overtime.

The first overtime featured back-and-forth action, with neither squad able to create separation. Both defenses stiffened, and the period ended with the score still tied at 63-63.

In the second overtime, Williamstown turned up the defensive pressure. The Yellowjackets forced key stops down the stretch and capitalized on their opportunities, edging out Tyler Consolidated by three to secure the 68-65 victory.

The Knights placed two in double figures with Landon Boggs and Cole Lemasters each scoring 10 points. They were followed by Brody Giovinazzo with eight, Ashton Morris with nine, Cole Lemasters with seven, John Mace and Coley Bell each with six. Garrett Bordenkircher added five points and Kolbin Highley and Austin Peck rounded out the scoring with two points each.

Despite the loss, the Silver Knights showed resilience and poise in one of their toughest tests of the season, pushing a strong Williamstown squad to the brink in a classic double-overtime battle.

The Silver Knights will now hit the road on February 10 when they travel to WV State University to tangle with Poca. It will be an early start for the Knights as game time is set for 8:30 AM.
