Tyler Consolidated Hosts First-Ever Archery Tournament at The Castle
Archery continues to hit the mark as a growing sport in West Virginia, and Tyler Consolidated helped prove that point this past weekend.
The Tyler Consolidated Silver Knight Archery Team hosted its first-ever tournament on Saturday, January 10, at The Castle, welcoming more than 400 archers from across the region. The strong turnout highlighted the increasing popularity of the sport and marked a milestone moment for the program.
Throughout the day, competitors of all ages took aim in a fast-paced and competitive atmosphere, showcasing skill, focus, and sportsmanship. The event not only provided quality competition, but also gave Tyler Consolidated the opportunity to shine as a host on its home range.
A special moment came during the senior portion of the tournament, when senior archers Skyler Wright, Andrew Starkey, Dane Nelson, and Lily Thompson were recognized for their dedication and commitment to the program. Each senior was honored alongside their escorts, drawing applause from teammates, family members, and spectators in attendance.
Next week the Tyler Star News will feature the results from the tournament.
