The Tyler Consolidated Silver Knights boys wrestling team turned in a strong performance Saturday at the Last Man Standing Wrestling Tournament in Shadyside, Ohio, finishing fifth out of 22 teams.

The Silver Knights showcased their depth with six wrestlers placing in the top six of their respective weight classes. Leading the way were Israel Winfrey and Kellan Dalrymple, who each earned runner-up finishes after impressive runs through the bracket.

Garrett Richards added to the team’s point total with a third-place finish, while Martel King followed closely behind in fourth. Wesley Kelly secured fifth place, and Stryder Shields rounded out the scoring for Tyler Consolidated with a sixth-place finish.

The strong showing highlighted the Silver Knights’ continued growth against a competitive field and capped off a demanding stretch of competition.

Tyler Consolidated will now take a much-needed break before returning to the mat on January 17, when the Silver Knights travel to Athens, Ohio, for the Athens Tournament, scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
