Emotions ran high on Senior Night, but the Tyler Consolidated volleyball team stayed focused and delivered a dominant performance, sweeping Wheeling Central in straight sets: 25-20, 25-18, 25-22. The victory marked the Silver Knights’ fifth consecutive win as they continue to build momentum late in the season.

Before the match, Tyler Consolidated honored its three seniors, Katie Grimm, Macy Highley, and Kyra Nolan, for their dedication and contributions to the program. Once the ceremony concluded, the Knights got down to business.

Leading the charge was senior standout Katie Grimm, who tallied 14 kills on the night, pushing her past the 1,000 career kill mark, a major milestone in high school volleyball. Grimm also added 12 digs, showcasing her all-around game.

Fellow senior Macy Highley delivered a strong performance as well, notching 10 kills, two aces, and 11 digs to help fuel the Knights’ offensive rhythm. Kayli West added nine kills and four blocks.

Raylynn Heintzman was the engine behind the attack, dishing out a match-high 34 assists while keeping Wheeling Central’s defense on its heels throughout the evening.

With the win the Knights improved their record to 19-8. The Lady Knights will next host the LKC Tournament on Saturday October 18 when they face off with Gilmer County at noon.
