Silver Knights Hit Hard on Day One of Contact Practice
The Tyler Consolidated Silver Knights came out in full pads on Monday, August 11, ready to embrace the grind as the first day of contact practice kicked off with intensity.
Wasting no time, the coaching staff put the team through the classic “hamburger drill”, a no-nonsense, old-school test of grit and physicality. The drill pits an offensive lineman, defensive lineman, running back, and linebacker against each other in a high-impact battle that separates the ready from the rusty.
The sound of pads popping echoed across the field as players dug in, fought for leverage, and proved who’s ready for Friday nights under the lights. The drill, known for its toughness, set the tone for a season where toughness and tenacity will be the expectation.
