TCHS Silver Knights Basketball team participates in a camp at OU.

The Tyler Consolidated High School boys basketball team put their summer flex days to good use, participating in a three-day team camp at Ohio University from June 6-8. Facing off against tough competition, the Silver Knights squared up against 14 different teams over the course of the event, finishing with a 6-8 record.

Throughout the camp, the Silver Knights showed resilience and growth, picking up notable wins against Matthews High School, Wellston High School, Athens High School, St. Mary’s Memorial High School, Buckeye Valley High School and Fairfield Union High School. The experience gave the team valuable exposure and time on the court as they prepare for the upcoming season.

Despite a few close losses, Head Coach Mark Winters said the tournament was a valuable learning opportunity. “We saw some real progress from our guys,” he said. “This kind of competition helps us build chemistry and identify areas we need to sharpen before winter.”

The camp provided a mix of different playing styles and skill levels, giving Tyler Consolidated a strong test and setting the foundation for a promising season ahead.
