Paden City Park Joins Pickleball Craze

By Rick Loy - Sports Writer | Jun 18, 2025

Paden City's Pickleballers enjoy the new courts.

The Paden City Park & Pool commission built four new pickleball courts for the public to use for the fastest growing sport in the area.

A group from the Brooklyn Pickleball Club ventured down to try out the new courts on Monday morning June 9. The courts do have lights, and a nice fence built around the courts. The only drawback the group agreed on was the space between the courts does not have a divider and not enough space to erect one.

So, the group could only utilize two courts at a time. The courts are regulation size with nice nets and smooth surface for good ball bounce. Maybe the parks & pool could revisit the courts and make some revisions to allow action on all four courts at same time.

There is plenty of available space to do so. Paden City resident Brian Croasmun said with the extra space, there could be more courts or make an even larger divider space between the courts. But a big thank you goes out to the City of Paden City for making this happen to join in on the high number of pickleball players playing and newbie’s wanting to learn.
