Doddridge Overcomes Silver Knights 9-3

The Tyler Consolidated Silver Knights were hoping for redemption Friday night, April 18 in baseball action, when they faced off against the Doddridge County Bulldogs, who handed them a lopsided 7-1 loss earlier in the season. But any hopes of revenge were dashed quickly, as the Bulldogs once again took control early and never let up, cruising to a 9-3 victory.
Doddridge wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, posting four runs in the first inning. They added another four in the sixth and capped off their night with a run in the seventh. Tyler Consolidated managed to push across single runs in the first, third, and sixth innings, but couldn’t string together enough offense to close the gap.
Despite the loss, the Silver Knights had a few bright spots at the plate. Brayden Neff, Landon Boggs, and Brennon Miller each recorded two hits. Neff provided a spark with a solo home run in the third inning.
The Silver Knights will now shift focus as they head south to compete in the Mingo Bay Classic in Myrtle Beach the week of April 21, looking to reset and find momentum on the road.
