Lady Knight Wrestlers Finish 3rd

By Randy Rutherford - Sports Writer | Feb 12, 2025

The TCHS Lady Knight wrestlers are at it again, pinning opponents and taking names.

The lady wrestlers put together their best tournament performance of the season last weekend, earning a third-place finish at the Buchanan-Upshire tournament. The strong team’s showing was highlighted by another dominant performance from Eliana Winfrey, who continued her impressive run by pinning all five of her opponents on the way to yet another first-place finish.

Chole Dutton also had a standout tournament, reaching the finals for the third time this season. She battled hard but ultimately secured her third runner up finish in as many tournaments, adding to her consistent success on the mat.

Arianna Hartline and Toni Thomas had several impressive victories as they both found themselves finishing 3rd. Mariah King and Camryn Westbrook would place 4th place as Sofia Corso placed 7th and Phranki Myers placed 8th. “I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, these girls work hard every single day. The fact that they are eager to learn and eager to compete says a lot about each one of them,” said Coach Eric McKeever.

The Lady Knights will cap off their regular season with a Quad match at Parkersburg South tomorrow night before they begin final preparations over the next two weeks for the Girls State Wrestling Tournament that will be held at the Huntington Civic Center on March 8th.
