The Lady Knights Girls Wrestling Team was in action on Friday, January 3rd, at Parkersburg High School. Leading the way was Junior Eliana Winfrey who pinned her way to another Championship proving once again why she is the #1 ranked girl in the state. A pair of Juniors, Arianna Hartline and Chloe Dutton, also wrestled their way to the finals. Both ladies fell just short of being crowned Champion and placed as runner-up in their respective weight classes. Sophomore Toni Thomas placed 4th. As a team the Lady Knights would finish 4th just a few points shy of third place Parkersburg High School.

The Lady Knights have now hit the mid-way point in their season. “These girls work hard day in and day out learning the sport of wrestling. I can see the progress each time they step out on the mat,” informed Head Coach Eric McKeever. The Lady Knights will be in action on Thursday the ninth at University for a quad. Then on Wednesday, January 15 the Lady Knights will welcome Parkersburg High for what is set to be the first girls’ dual match in school history. Coach McKeever shared, “We are hopeful that Knight Fans will come out to see our Lady Knights Wrestlers in action to witness some exciting wrestling in the Castle.”
