Valley Girls Defeat Lady Hornets 72-31

The Lumberjills traveled to Hundred on Thursday night, January 2, to battle the home team in the Hornets nest.

The visitors wasted no time in taking control of the game as they scored 22 points in each of the first two quarters to go into the locker room on top 44-21. Valley started the game on fire, hitting nine field goals in the first quarter and 10 in the second period to establish a lead they would not relinquish.

The lumberjills had four players hit in double figures led by Kennedi Dallison who finished the contest as the games top scorer with 19 markers including 15 in the first half. She hit eight shots from the floor and went 3-3 from the free throw line. Laken Dawson added 16 points, including 12 in the first half. She collared 11 rebounds and had six steals and five assists.

Carley Pittman knocked in 13 points on six field goals including a 3-pointer. Freshman Elynn Derby scored 10 points including a 3-pointer. Aubree Mason added six points, while Michaela Miller had four and Kendra and Alexis Highley each hit a basket.

Hundred was led by Leah Shreveport with 14 points including four 3-pointers from beyond the arc. Johni Yeager ended in double figures with 10 points and Aubrey LaRue added seven including a 3-pointer.

Hundred, who is playing short handed due to sickness and injuries made 10 shots from the floor and was 5-15 from the free throw line.

Valley cashed in 32 shots from the floor and made 6-8 free throws. Valley led in rebounding 36-19.
