Ashton Wade goes up for two points.

The Lady Wildcats under the direction of head coach Josh Fulks opened the 2024-25 basketball season dropping the opener to Bridgeport, Ohio by the score of 32-20. The Lady Cats got off to a slow start only scoring four points in the first half but were still in the game heading to halftime trailing 16-4. The Lady Wildcats matched Bridgeport in the third and fourth quarter scoring seven in the third and nine in the fourth but the first half deficit was too much to overcome. Kim Burch led the Cats scoring eight points followed by Katie Householder with five and Ashton Wade with four.

“We have to take better care of the ball, we had 27 turnovers as a team we have to improve on this. Our shooting percentage has to improve also as the team hit seven of 42 attempts on the night. We will continue to work on the basics and try to be competitive in each game,” said Coach Fulks.

The Wildcats will need to get past this loss quickly as they will play host to the Valley Lumberjills on Friday, December 6.

Lady Wildcats Fall to Valley

The Lady Wildcats fell to rival Valley Lumberjills on December 6 at home by the score of 53-26. The Lady Cats held their own in the first quarter matching Valley to a 9-9 tie. The second quarter proved to be the downfall as they were outscored 19-5 to trail 28-14 at halftime. Valley would continue adding theo their lead in the third period scoring 18 more points while holding Paden City to four. Paden City would get nine points from Ashton Wade seven from Kim Burch and five from Katie Householder but it was not enough to overtake the Lumberjills. Valley was led by Laken Dawson with a game high 25 points. She was followed by Carley Pittman with eight.

Valley will be back in action on the road on December 9 when they travel to Trinity Christian. Paden City will also be on the road on December 10 when they travel to Heritage Christian.
