Lady Wildcats Begin Sectional Play

The Lady Wildcats began Sectional play at home on Wednesday May 4, 2022 against Cameron. The double elimination tournament opened with the Lady Cats dropping a 10-4 decision to the Lady Dragons. Brooke Hoskins took the loss for the Cats going five innings allowing 12 hits and eight bases on balls. McKenzie Thomas, Destiny Rone and Madi Kline each three hits to lead the Wildcats. Madi Kline also chipped in with three RBI’s. Other Cats at the plate saw Brynna Hoskins with a single in three at bats and Haley Walton also had a hit. The loss dropped the Wildcats to the losers bracket where they will face off with Weirton Madonna in an elimination game.
Paden City Softball Season Comes to an End
Paden City Softball saw their season come to an end on Thursday May 5 at the hands of Weirton Madonna in a wild and high scoring affair by the score of 14-13. The Lady Cats fell behind in the first inning 7-1 but rallied in the second scoring seven of their own runs to pull within three at 10-7 in favor of Madonna. The Lady Blue Dons would add one run in the fourth and three in the sixth. Paden City rallied for three runs in the fifth, one in the sixth and one in the seventh but came up shy by one run. The Cats bats were strong as they scattered 13 hits on the night led by McKenzie Thomas and Brooke Hoskins each with three hits. Other Lady Wildcats with hits were Destiny Rone with two, Madi Kline with one, Brynna Hoskins with one, Haley Walton and Jordyn Rose would each add a hit to the total. Thomas would add three RBI’s. Brooke Hoskins took the loss on the mound.
