Silver Knights Baseball Honor Seniors

Tyler Consolidated defeated Paden City on Senior Night Wednesday April 27 by the score of 17-2. Seniors Weston Henderson, Garrett Ammons and Alec Chaplin along with their parents were honored before the game. The trio then proceeded to lead the Knights victory in the field and at the plate. Ammons was two for two with two RBI’s and scored a run, Henderson was one for three with an RBI and Chaplin also was one for one with one RBI and scored a run. Alec was also the winning pitcher going three innings, striking out four Wildcat batters. The one sided victory started out slowly as the Knights fell behind 2-0 in the top of the first but quickly responded scoring three runs in the bottom of the first and never looked back. Jayden Helmick was huge for the Knights going three for four including a triple and home run with one RBI and scored three runs. Ty Walton was two for three with three RBI’s and scored three runs. Hayden Brown and Zade Billings each had two hits and one RBI.

The Silver Knights will hit the road for their next two games as they travel to Ritchie County on Friday April 29 and then to Williamstown on Monday May 2.

Silver Knights Claim 6-5 Victory Over Ritchie County

Tyler Consolidated boys baseball team survived a late rally by the Ritchie County Rebels and hung on to take a 6-5 victory on the road on Friday, April 29. Ritchie would score three runs in the bottom of the seventh to pull within one but Tyler closer Alec Chaplin came in to close out the game and the victory. Hayden Brown got the win for the Silver Knights going three and two-thirds innings striking out four. Ty Walton was also on the mound for the Knights going tow and one-third inning striking out three. Zade Billings remained hot at the plate with two hits and two RBIs. Jayden Helmick and Owen Westbrook also collected multiple base hits while Westbrook drove in a run. At the plate Chaplin, Ty Walton and Weston Henderson all had RBI’s.
