Rush Invitational Track Meet held at Clay Battelle
On April 29, local schools took part in the Rush Invitational track meet one of the beter events of the season. Paden City, Hundred, and Tyler Consolidated all performed well among the 10 teams participating.
In the 200 meter dash Tyler Consolidated sophomore Sean Winfrey placed fourth with a time of 25.21 to give the Knights their first our points on the night.
Paden City came up big in the 110 meter hurdles with senior Shane Anderson taking the first place win in a time of 16.51 for 10 Wildcat points. Teammate Jasup Spragg added two more points to the Wildcat total with a fifth place finish in the 300 meter low hurdles. Spragg covered the distance in a time of 47.76.
The Silver Knights tacked on five more points as they came in a close fourth right on the heels of Morgantown in the 4×100 meter relay with a time of 48.1from a team of Trenton Huffman, Sage Landis, Branson Winfrey, and Sean Winfrey. Paden City added five points to their total as well in the 4×200 with a fourth place finish right behind East Fairmont in a time of 1:40.15 from a team of Jasup Spragg, Shane Anderson, William Christtensen, and Brandon Hizer. Tyler Consolidated came in fifth for four points with a time of 1:40.56 from a team of Trenton Huffman, Sean Winfrey, Branson Winfrey, and Sage Landis.
Paden City tacked on five more points in the 110 shuttle hurdles with a fourth place finish in a time of 1:06.30 from Spragg, Jacob Myers, Logan Smith, and Anderson. In the high jump Paden City got 3.90 points from Mickey Guerra with a 5-00.00 jump. Theevent had seven jumpers all tie for the points. Hundred added 3.90 from Conner Snedden and Tyler Consolidate got 3.90 from Haydon Ammons.
The Silver Knights picked up a win for first place in the pole vault from sophomore Sage Landis with a vault clearing the bar at11-00.00. Freshman teammate Branson Winfrey took fourth for five more Knight points clearing the bar at 8-06.0. The Silver Knights got third place in the shot put for six points as Jaden Holmes got off a toss of 39-01.00. Holmes also picked up two points in the Discus throw with a 111-07 to add to the Silver Knights total.
Buckhannon Upshur won the meet with 169.90 points, East Fairmont High School had168.90, Morgantown High School had 68.90, Grafton had 56.90, Clay-Battelle High School 54, Trinity Christian School 43.90, Tyler Consolidated High 40.90, Paden City High School 27.90, Union High School 8.90, Hundred High School 3.90, Cameron High School 3.90
Cline Stansberry Invitational Track Meet Results from April 22, at Doddridge County
In the boys 800 meter run Magnolia picked up eight points with a second place finish from Brady Renner with a time of 2:11.20.
Also scoring for the Blue Eagles was Landen Davis who came in fifth in the 3200 meter run in a time of 10:23.10 good for two points.
The boys 4×800 meter relay had Magnolia coming in third place with a time of 8:53.65 good for six points from a team of Lucas Zombotti, Landen Davis, Jordan Davis, and Brady Renner.
Sage Landis of Tyler Consolidated came in sixth in the pole vault good for one point with a vault of 11-00.00.Magnolia received eight more points from Austin Beverlin in the long jump with a second place leap of 20-11.00. In the shot put Tyler got four points from Jaden Holmes who was fourth with a toss of 43-07.00
Team Scoring in the event had Point Pleasants getting first place with 135 points.
