TC Softball Defeats Ritchie County in Extra Innings
The Tyler Consolidated Lady Knights traveled to Ellenboro on Monday night April 4 to take on the Ritchie County Rebels. Tyler would come out on top by the score of 9-7 in eight innings. Tyler jumped out to a 3-0 lead after two innings but the rebels countered in the bottom of the third scoring three to tie the game. Richie County would score one run in the Fifth and three in the sixth to take a 7 to 3 lead heading to the seventh-inning. The Lady Knights would rally to score four in the top of the seventh to tie the game and send it to extra innings. In the top of the eighth inning Tyler scored two runs and held Ritchie County scoreless in the bottom of the eighth to take the win. Leading hitters for the Knights was Ashlee Spencer going three for four, Havannah Lemasters two for three, Hailey Sandy two for four and Audrey Dennis two for five with a double. Winning pitcher for the Knights was Braeden Wall going the distance.
Lady Knights Sweep Double Header
It was all Tyler Consolidated on Friday night April 8 as they swept a doubleheader from South Harrison by the scores of 12-2 and 14-2. Braeden Wall took the mound for the Lady Knights in game one picking up the win while helping her cause going two for four with 5 RBIás. Other leaders for the Lady Knights was Leah Loudin going three for four with one RBI, Hailey Sandy one for two scoring three runs and Havannah Lemasters one for three with two RBIs.
Game 2 saw Hailey Sandy pick up the win for the Knights on the mound with Audrey Dennis going two for three with four RBIs and Ramona Rice three for four with four RBIs.
The two victories improved the Lady Knights record to 8-5 after starting the season 0-3. The Knights have gone 8-2 since the first three games.
TCHS Lady Knights Battle Wahama
Tyler County girls softball team made the long trip to Wahama on Tuesday, April 12 and came up on the short end of a 7-3 decision. Wahama would score two in the bottom of the first to take an early lead but the Knights would answer in the top of the second scoring two to tie the game. Wahama would answer with one in the bottom of the second one and the third and three and the fifth. Tyler was only able to manage one more run in the third inning.
Leading the way at the plate for the Lady Knights was a Briann Templeton going one for three with one RBI, Tanley McEldowney one for two, Audrey Dennis one for three and Braeden Wall one for three with two RBIs. Audrey Dennis and Braeden Wall would each add a double to their totals. Braeden Wall took the loss for the Lady Knights going six innings and striking out five.
