Magnolia Track team comes in First in Wetzel Tyler Track Meet

he Wetzel Tyler Track League held their first meet of the season on Tuesday at Tyler Consolidatedás New Facilitiy and Magnolia Boys and Girls came out the winners among the five schools in the league.

The Boys 100 Meter Dash was won by the Silver Knights Sean Winfrey in a time of 12.28 good for eight points. Valleyás Trison Bates came in second with a 12.32 for six points. Hundredás Colton Whitehill took third with a time of 12.68 for four points, while Sean Bates of Valley with a 12.81 got fourth for two points, Tylerás Branson Winfrey, was fifth with a 12.98 for one point.

The Boys 200 Meter Dash was also won by the Knights Sean Winfrey with a time of 25.10 good for eight more Silver Knight points. Bates of Valley came in second with a time of 26.11 for six points, Branson Winfrey of Tyler was third for four points with a 26.40. Landen Anderson took fourth with a time of 26,57 for two points, Sam Mensore of Magnolia grabbed the fifth place spot with a time of 26.86 good for one point.

In the Boys 400 Meter Dash the Silver Knights struck gold again with Sage Landis coming in first for eight points with a time of 55.39. Magnolia took the next three spots picking up 12 points with Jordan Davis getting second with a time of 59.52 for six points, Damon Shimp came in third in a time of 1:02.18 for four points, Sean Stapel got fouurth with a 1:04.05 for two points, and Valleyás Isaac Campbell ran a 1:06.62 for sixth and a point.

The Boys 800 Meter Run was won by Anthony Figueroa in a time of 3:15.85 for eight Silver Knight points.

The 1600 meter run was won byMagnoliaás Landen Davis in a time of 5:08.56 for eight points followed by temamates Lucas Zombotti witha 5:21.95 for six points and Shiv Patel with a 6:03.67 good for four points. Silver Knight Anthony Figueroa came in fourth with a time of 7:03.38 good for two points.

Paden City won the Boys 110 Meter Hurdles 39ã as Shane Anderson took first with a time of 16.97 good for eight points. Teammate Logan Smith picked up the second place with a time of 18:76 good for six points. Magnoliaás Marcus Barnes came in thrid with a time of 18:84 good for four Blue Eagle points. The Wildcats Jasup Spragg took first in the Boys 300 Meter Hurdles 36ã with a time of 48.86 for eight Wildcat points. Teammate Logan Smith followed in second place with a 50.78 time good for six points. Barnes of Magnolia came in third with a 51.47 to add four points to the Blue Eagle total.

Valley took top honors in the Boys 4×100 Meter Relay and picked up eight points with a time of 49.07 with a team of Isaiah Bassett, Sean Bates, Triston Bates, and Royer Gabe. Valleyás âBã team claimed second place with a time of 53.24 good for six points.

Valley Boys also won the 4×200 Meter Relay in a time of 1:42.70 with a team of Isaiah Bassett, Sean Bates, Triston Bates, and Gabe Royer good for eight more points. The Silver Knights finished second in a time of 1:52.60 good for six points.

Magnolia Boys won the 4×400 Meter Relay in a time of 4:06.53 good for eight points with a team of Jordan Davis, Landen Davis, Zombotti, and Anderson

Paden City claimed first in the 4×110 shuttle hurdles with a time of 1:09.35 good for eight points with a team of Jasup Spragg, Mickey Guerra, Logan Smith, and Shane Anderson.

Valley and Paden City shared the top spot in the high jump with seven points each as Isaiah Bassett and Shane Anderson tied at 5-06.00 each. Magnoliaás Austin Beverlin was third with a jump of 5-06.00 as well good for four points. Paden Cityás Mickey Guerra got fourth for two points with a jump of 4-10.00. Valley picked up fifth place for a point on a jump of 4-06.00 by Landen Jerico.

The Silver Knights took the top two spots in the pole vault with Sage Landis winning eight points on a vault of 10-00.00. Marques Jackson was second with a 9-06.00 good for six points. Magnolia took the next three spots with Zombotti getting third with a 9-00.00, Jordan Davis fourth with a 7-06.00 and Stapel fifth with a 7-06.00.

Triston Bates from Valley won the long jump with a leap of 19-02.00 good for eight points. Magnolia took a close second place with Austin Beverlin leaping 19-01.50 good for six points. Paden Cityás Shane Anderson ended third with an 18-04.00 for four points. Sean Winfrey of TC got fourth with a leap of 18-04.00 good for two points and teammate Sage Landis went 18-01.75 good for fifth and a Silver Knight point.

Jason Holmes of Tyer Consolidated won the shot put with a toss of 42-04.00 for eight points. Magnoliaás Joey Dawson tossed the ball 39-08.00 for second place and six points. Isaiah Bassett of Valley took third with a toss of 38-11.00 good for four points. Virgil Doiron of Valley came in next with a toss of 35-10.00 for two points, and Silver Knight David Grimes picked up a point with a fifth place toss of 33-11.00.

The Silver Knights Jaden Holmes also won the Boys Discus Throw with a heave of 115-03 to add eight points to the Knights total and make him a duel winner on the night. Magnolia senior Kolbee Cecil got off a good throw and landed in second place with a 110-04 good for six Blue Eagle points. Teammate Damon Shimp finished in the third place spot with a throw of 104.11 good for four points. Virgil Doiron of Valley high school ended fourth with a throw of 96-04 for two points, while Magnoliaás Nathaniel Thorpe heaved one out 94-10 for a Blue eagle point and fifth place.

Magnolia finished in first place as a team with 83 points, followed by Tyler Consolidated with 80, Valley with 55, Paden City with 48, and Hundrd with 4.
