Tyler Falls to Wirt County in Four Sets

The Silver Knights hosted defending state champions Wirt County on Saturday, October 17, and put up a battle, but eventually fell in a fourth set overtime match to the visitors, by winning 25-12, 25-18, 18-25, and 26-24.

Senior Regan Smith was the top gun for the Silver Knights as she pounded down 14 kills, offered up 44 sets,had 15 assists, 10 digs and three service points in an all-around good effort.

Backing her on the day was Caleigh Phillips who had 48 sets and 16 assists, while also getting 11 kills, three blocks, five digs, two points and an ace. Lindsay Thompson was top point maker as she used her power serving to pick up 13 points, including four aces. Ryley VanDyne was big at the net on the defensive end blocking 12 of the Tiger spikes, plus she had three kills and four digs. Braeden Wall also stood tall with 10 blocks and two kills around the net.

Sadie Nichols played a good floor game picking up 10 digs, while Audrey Dennis came in tops in the dig department with 12. Landry Buchanan added four digs, and scored eight service points, including two aces. Ashlee Spencer served up nine points and had two digs and Ashley Miller stood out by filling the stat sheet with two kills, two blocks, four digs, 10 service points and two aces.

Knights win Home

Tri-Match

On Tuesday, October 13, the Silver Knights hosted a Tri-Match with Weirton and Wood County Christian. The Silver Knights made easy work of both teams winning against Weirton 25-15 and 25-7, while downing the Wood County team 25-15 and 25-11.

Against Weir, Smith took charge scoring nine service points, including two aces, while hammering down nine kills, getting five digs, 18 sets and six assists. Thompson had another big night getting 38 sets and 12 assists, while adding seven service points, one ace, three digs, two kills and two blocks. Phillips hit down seven kills and blocked four on defense, while also adding two digs.

Nichols offered seven digs, four points and an ace, while Buchanan got six digs, and a dig. Dennis had four digs, Caitlyn Hayes had one block and one dig, Spencer got three digs and a point, VanDyne had four blocks and a kill, and Wall got three blocks an a kill.

In the Match with Wood County, Phillips had 36 sets, 20 assists, 11 service points, including three aces, five kills and two blocks to lead the way. Smith had another good match with 14 sets, six assists, five points, five digs, one block and 13 slams.

Thompson also came through again with five kills, two blocks, five digs, six points and two aces.

Buchanan had seven digs, six points and an ace, and Nichols got six digs and a point. Spencer ended with eight points including an ace, plus two digs.

Dennis got four digs, Wall three kills and two blocks, VanDyne one kill, Miller two kills and a block, Caitlyn Northcraft five sets and two assists, and Hayes had two kills. Shayli Kocher finished with a dig.
