Athlete of the Week
The Tyler Star News athletes of the week for Feb. 15 are top talent seniors for Tyler Consolidated High School’s basketball teams.
Jace Reed had a nice game in the loss to Parkersburg Catholic as he poured on 23 points including a trio of threes. A four-year player for the Silver Knights, Reed is a leader on and off the court as well as being an honor roll student. Reed is a good shot from outside and can get to the basket where he is good at drawing fouls. He plays tough on defense and battles hard on the boards. He looks to be ready for the post season where the Knights, if they get hot, could go deep into the playoffs.
Congratulations to Jace.
Aleah Black, a key playmaker, is a great asset to the Knights who dominates the boards and leads the Mid-Ohio Valley in rebounding averaging over 11 boards per game. She also has become a great shot blocker and at last check, could possibly be the all-time shot blocker in school history. That is unofficial as of now. On Friday against South Harrison, she gathered 12 rebounds and has two blocks. This tall teen towers over her foes who dare to bring it on Tyler turf.
Congratulation to Aleah on a great year at Tyler Consolidated.
