Good morning Tyler County.

Tyler Consolidated’s girls’ basketball team defeated Notre Dame, 58-36, and South Harrison 62-41 in recent days. Photo by Tammie Weekley. The usual hoops stars put points on the board; names like Josey Jones, JoLee Walton, Aleah Black, Amanda Reynolds, Joralda Rice, Cora Grimm, Peyton Kocher, Autumn Wells, Miranda Weekley. Congrats!

The Wildcats’ boys’ basketball team defeated the Pirates, 46-39, at the Paw Paw High School on Saturday in Morgan County. Wildcats’ Aaron Heasley scored 25 points while his teammate Hayden Hizer put 15 points on the board. The Wildcats’ girls’ basketball team defeated Harmon 43-29 too.

More ink on the basketball games will be spread soon on the pages of the Tyler Star News.

The gladiators came out to wrestle during the three-day OVAC Ron Mauck Wrestling Tournament in Wheeling that wrapped up Saturday in WesBanco Arena. Forty teams competed in the tournament that Parkersburg South pinned down to take home the title.

Tyler Consolidated placed 26th with 35 points. Silver Knights’ Cory Chipps defeated Kade Clark of Union Local. More on this story will appear in the next edition.
