RAVENSWOOD — The states No. 3 Class A team proved it is worthy of it’s ranking on Saturday as the host Ravenswood Red Devils hit nearly 50 percent from the three point line 17-35 enroute to walloping Tyler Consolidated 108-51. The game was originally scheduled for Friday, but was rescheduled because of bad weather. The weather may have been cold and snowy on the outside, but for the Red Devil’s it was red hot in the gym as they shot 65 percent for the game and had five players in double figures.

The Silver Knights, however, shot just 34 percent going 18-53 with Dylan Roberts leading the way with 13 points. He was backed by Jace Reed and Tyler Anderson with 11 a piece. Ravenswood’s Isaiah Morgan finished as the games scoring leader with 32 including eight 3’s. He was followed by Rhodes with 23, Heatherington 21, Dawson 17 and Bennett 13. The Red Devils led in nearly every category of the game as they outrebounded the Knights 34-19, assists 30-8, while also collecting eight steals and eight blocks. The Knights had 14 turnovers to six for Ravenswood.

The Silver Knights won the JV game 45-44 in a thriller with Nick Gorby leading the way with 10 points

Knights fall to Williamstown

Visiting Tyler Consolidated got 11 points from Anderson and 10 from Roberts but it wasn’t enough as the 7-2 state ranked Williamstown Yellow Jackets used a strong fourth quarter to turn a close game into a 60-43 win.

The Knights fell to 3-5 on the campaign with the loss but for three quarters battled to a 38-38 game. The fourth quarter belonged to the Yellow Jackets as they poured in 20 to just five for the cold shooting knights. Reed added eight points for Tyler while Tyler West and Nate Lancaster each contributed six. Overall, the Knights made just 16-45 field goals while the Yellow Jackets hit 20-41. Williamstown also led in rebounds 28-27 and shot seven more foul shots than the Silver Knights. Tyler Consolidated knocked in only 2-11 three’s while Williamstown canned 5-11. Isaac Brown led Williamstown in scoring with a game high 20 points.

Both teams were even in steals with 10 and turnovers with 15.
