Knights Host Stormin’ the Castle
MIDDLEBOURNE – More than 300 cross country runners competed recently at the Stormin’ the Castle meet hosted by Tyler Consolidated High School.
Racers from nine high schools and eight middle school teams took on the challenging hills in the forest behind the school on Sept. 6. This wasn’t any flat and fast golf course, but a race that was sure to make the best runners remember this 5K long after they’ve graduated.
Prior to the race, TCHS Coach Brenna Haggerty said, “I am excited to host our home meet this season. It is fun to see how the runners compete on such a difficult course.”
The Tyler Consolidated boys finished second in the middle school team standings, while their girls team placed third.
Silver Knights’ Jahnvi Duncan (27:02.22) and Pratt (27:18.98) of Tyler Consolidated finished seventh and eighth, while teammates Emma Paden 31:18.98, and Taylor Ebert (44:20.97) finished strong.
Silver Knights’ Gavin Corley added, “I hope to go out top 15 and use the hills to advance. I want to finish strong.”
