Athlete of the Week
MIDDLEBOURNE – There were several athletes who performed well this week, but one stood head and shoulders above the rest.
If Friday night was a preview of what’s to come, Tyler Consolidated’s Brandon Keys is going to shine. Williamstown has some pretty good running backs, but if they were to meet up again against the Silver Knights, I believe they would shy away from this Knights’ player.
Unofficially, Keys is recorded with having made 13 solo tackles with two for a loss and assisted on seven others. That’s what you call having a big game. Some of those hits you could hear in the press box. He also caused a fumble while manning the linebacker position.
If there is a better linebacker in the area, I want to see him.
Keys can be and is a game changer. He plays with great determination and intensity. Keep an eye on him. Great things are coming. Also, beware come wrestling season – he’s on a mission.
Special Honorable mention goes out to Tyler Anderson for his opening 95-yard kickoff return and to Tyler Consolidated soccer players Nate Lantz who had two goals and Levi Morgan with three goals during last week’s action.
Hororable mention to TCHS football players Jace Reed, Griffin Phillips and Mark Rucker.
