TCHS Boys Pickup Wins On Diamond
Jordan Baker came up big at Parkersburg on April 6 as he went the distance, striking out 14 batters with only two walks. Baker also had two singles and scored a run to help the Knights to their sixth straight win as they downed Parkersburg Catholic, 5-2. Dylan Roberts added a single and two runs while Nate Lantz crossed the plate twice. Tyler West also had a single on the night.
The Silver Knights continued their hot streak against Cameron April 5 in a home contest. Senior Isaac Hall took the mound for Tyler and combined with Roberts for a one-hitter and a 4-2 win. Hall got the win, pitching five innings with four strikeouts and four walks. Roberts came in and pitched two innings for the save with one strikeout and no walks.
Hall and Lantz both had RBI doubles and Lantz scored two runs. Roberts had a single and a run scored and Baker added an RBI single.
“I’m really proud of our pitching staff at this point in the season. They are learning to keep hitters off balance by mixing up their pitches and throwing off speed pitches for strikes,” TCHS Coach Robby Jones said. “He also said they have some big games coming up and their sights are set on their goals and they will continue to work hard to achieve them.”
