Silver Knights Split Doubleheader With Linsly

The Silver Knights beat Linsly 10-4 Saturday in the second game of a doubleheader by pounding out 13 hits to eight for the Cadets.

The Silver Knights’ Vanessa Templeton got the win going seven innings and striking out seven batters while giving up only two walks.

Madison Lasick led the attack for the Knights, going 3-4 from the plate with two singles and a double, driving in two runs. Madison West also drove in two and scored three times as she went 2-4 with two singles.

Templeton helped her own cause with a double for two RBI. Kylie Martin had two hits and a RBI while JoLee Walton connected for a double and a RBI. Rhianna Long hit a single to knock in a run while Kenna Smith, Joralda Rice and Megan Miller all had a hit.

Linsly won Saturday’s first game, 6-4, despite being outhit by the Knights 8-5. West took the loss for Tyler Consolidated, going seven innings, striking out 10 batters and walking three. JoLee Walton had a single and a double on 2-3 batting and a RBI. Rhianna Long also went 2-3, adding an RBI.

West drilled a triple on 1-4 batting while Kenna Smith, Kylie Martin, Joralda Rice and Templeton all had a hit.

Silver Knights top Cameron in Girls Softball

The Silver Knights traveled to Cameron on Friday night and came away with a 10-6 win by pounding out 16 hits to the Dragons eight.

West led the way, going 4-5 from the plate with six RBI, including four on a grand slam homer. Walton continued her fine play as she hammered a single and a triple on 2-3 hitting.

Smith went 3-4 from the plate with and RBI and scored three runs. Martin hit a triple and drove in a run on 1-3 batting, while Long went 2-4 and scored two runs. Templeton drove in two runs with a single and Lasick added a double and a single.

Danelle Grimes got a hit single for the other Knight hit. The Knights improved to 5-4 with the win.
