Knights Comeback to Defeat Catholic

The Silver Knights improved to 4-3 on March 30 as they scored four runs in the bottom of the fourth to surge ahead 6-3 and go on to a 7-4 victory over Parkersburg Catholic on the home field. Catholic jumped ahead 3-1 after three innings, but the Knights’ Isaac Hall held them scoreless in the next three innings and Luke Daugherty came on in the seventh to close out the game.

Hall got the win, striking out seven Catholic batters while issuing only three walks. He also went 2-5 at the plate driving in two runs to help his cause.

Nate Lantz added a single and a RBI, while Austin Thompson drilled a double knocking in a run. Colby Lash continued his hitting streak with a single and an RBI. Colby Buchanan added a single and Jordan Baker had a double and a RBI.

River Comeback Nips Tyler

Looking to improve on their 3-2 record, the Silver Knights jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead after three innings but couldn’t hold on as the Pilots worked their way back in the game and were down 10-8 going into the seventh. In the top of the inning, they planted four runs to go ahead 12-10 for the victory.

River benefited from the long ball as they pounded three home runs bringing in seven runs. Hunter Dennis belted a three run shot, Lukas Isley hit a solo and Chase Wichterman drilled a three run over the left field fence.

Tyler fell to 3-3 with the loss with Jordan Baker working 6 1/3 innings to take the loss. Lash again led the charge for the Silver Knights as he went 2-4 with a double and a single driving in two runs. Baker hit a shot into the gap in right- center for a triple and two RBI while Lantz and Kyle Mason also added doubles and two RBI each.
