PC Softball Battles Against Dragons, Hornets and Eagles

Paden City played host to the Cameron Dragons in girls softball Thursday night and dropped one to the Dragons, 9-6.

Cameron’s Emily Broughton went the distance for the win, recording six strikeouts and issuing four walks. Taylor Cosper took the loss for the Wildcats as she struck out three and walked two. The Wildcats had six hits on the night, but left several runners stranded.

Shelby Gatian had a single and 2 RBI while Madeline Cox drilled a double for an RBI. Jenna Ferrebee also had a single and 2 RBI. Ashlynn Moses, Hanna Hall and Aubrey Neff all drilled doubles to keep the game close.

In other softball action, the Magnolia’ softball team shutout Paden City on Wednesday night in Wildcat town, 4-0. The Wildcats fell to 1-1 with the loss. The Blue Eagles’ Ashlynn Pickaski struck out 14 batters and Emily Shank had two doubles and an RBI.

The Wildcats got two singles from senior Taylor Cosper while Aubrey Neff drilled a double.

In another matchup, Paden City dropped Hundred in four innings on March 21. The Wildcats opened the season in style when they swatted the Hornets 16-0 in a four inning mercy rule game. Neff worked the mound for the Wildcats as she struckout five batters and issued two walks. Jenna Ferrebee and Cox both had three RBI doubles and Bri Henthorn had a two RBI single. Cox also had a single for the Wildcats.
