CC teams improve

The Tyler Consolidated Cross Country high school and middle school teams made the trip to Mineral Wells, on Saturday, to participate in the Chick-fil-A Invitational. Competition was provided by 30 different schools from local teams to teams fromCharleston, Morgantown and from as far asNewark,OH.

With the large number of schools participating,middle school teams were split up in varsity and junior varsity races. The Consolidated middle schoolgirls varsity teamproduced a 18th out of 24 total team performance, while the middle school boys placed 26th out of 26 teams. The only remaining Silver Knight team ran in the middle school junior varsity girls race and showed 10th out of 13 teams.

The initial race of the day had 181 middle school varsity girls competing around their 3k course. Alexis Chambers (57th place overall in 13:20) was the first Consolidated Lady Knight to finish, followed closely by Amber Watson (67th/13:38). Juliana Miller (104th/14:33)and Belle Camerlin (106th/14:37) werethe next two Knight runners with Becky Bolin (113th/14:54) providing the final team scoring spot. Not far off Bolin’s pace were Amanda Reynolds (147th/15:35) and Kaylee Hulin (150th/15:43).

Next up, 182 boys toed the line for the varsity middle school race. Evan Shreve (106th overall with a finishing time of 12:41) and Adam Cooper (134th/13:30) led the Tyler Consolidated boys out. Finishing close behind the lead Knights were Creed Eller (148th/14:04) and Josh Frum (156th/14:34). Tightly grouped up, the remaining three Tyler Consolidated athletes, Aaron Warner (175th/16:02), Kamron Milhoan (176th/16:14) and Zach Judge (180th/16:32).

Megan Sole (44th/15:14) set the pace for the Knights in the middle school JV race followed by Cosette Bantug (92nd/17:01) and Joralda Rice (101st/17:35). Cleaning up for the Silver Knights in the field of 145 runnerswere Kellsi Anderson (126th/19:02) and Vanessa Templeton (137th/20:02).

Middle school junior varsity boys had a group of 143 competitors with Eli Henthorn (94th/15:12) showing best for Tyler Consolidated.followed byPJ Wright(119th/16:22). Justin Brinkmeier (121st/16:52) completed his first meet of the year, with Zach Bonner (126th/17:23) not far behind.

With 135 high school girls at the starting line for their race, the Tyler Consolidated Lady Knights had plenty of competition on hand. Marisa Gogan (placing 79th overall in 26:26) led out the Silver followed by Lauren Seckman (116th/31:00). Rei Yasunaga (126th/32:56) completed her first meet of the year and Stephanie Wright (129th/34:42) finished close behind.

The Silver Knight high school boys started against 194 athletes. Pacing the Silver Knight boys was sophomore Ryan Dalrymple (82nd overall in 21:05), seconded by Sean Camerlin (152nd/23:49) with Devon Thompson (187th/27:55) finishing off the local runners.

The Silver Knight harriers have a quick turn-around this week with a Tuesday evening meet at Doddridge, followed by the Magnolia Mudhole Invitational meet on Saturday.
