Cee Bee’s win Christmas Tourney
The varsity girls basketball team at Paden City High School held their annual Christmas Classic Tournament on Dec. 11-12 at Paden City High School. Participating in the tournament were the Lady ‘Cats, Valley High School’s Lumber Jill’s, Clay Battelle’s Lady Cee Bee’s and Bridgeport High School’s Lady Bulldogs. The Cee Bee’s had two wins in the tournament to take the championship on Saturday night.
In the first game of the tournament, the Lady Wildcats fell to Valley 32-26 in order to be placed in the bottom part of the finals. Senior Amanda Tallman led Paden City with 10 points including two three-pointers. Megan Cutlip scored nine, Dominique Craft had four points and Alli Bertozzi added three to the mix.
Clay Battelle defeated Bridgeport in the second game of the first night by a score of 49-46.
The Lady Bulldogs of Bridgeport took the consolation match over Paden City on Saturday night, 39-38, with the game coming down to foul shots at the very end. Bertozzi and Courtney Conaway led all Green and White scorers in the game with 12 point apiece. Tallman and Cutlip each scored seven.
The Lady Cee-Bee’s outlasted Valley in the championship game, 40-30 to take the win, and the title.
The Lady Wildcats will face their next opponent on Dec. 17 when they host the Lady Hornets of Hundred at Bob Burton Gymnasium in Paden City.
