Lady Knights receive post season accolades

Several local high school girls participating on the Tyler Consolidated Silver Knight varsity soccer team have received post-season accolades for their effort on the soccer fields this season.

Senior Haley Acree was named to the second team All-State team; Maddie Schlabowskie and Jackie Clark received honorable mentions for the All-State team; and Nichole Stinespring, Tara Jones and Emily Wildman each were nominated to the team.

Acree will also play in the North-South, Class A-AA girls soccer game, played at East West Stadium in Fairmont on Nov. 21 at 1 p.m.

Several Lady Knights also made the cut for the LKC coaches All-Star team for certain positions. Acree was selected as a forward; Clark, midfielder; Wildman, goalie; and Schlabowskie, as a defender.

In the OVAC post season awards, Acree was named to the first team, division three All-Star team; Schlabowskie, and Clark each received honorable mentions.

“These kids worked very hard for us all year,” said Lady Knight head soccer coach, Cliff Warner.

“I’m glad to see that somebody other than us, recognize them. They deserve it.”
