Netters end ‘09 regular season
The Tyler Consolidated Lady Knight varsity volleyball team finished up their regular season last week with a season record of 21-13.
The team began Sectional play on Monday and hope to advance to Regional play this weekend.
During regular season play last week, the Lady Knights took the win over John Marshall on Oct. 27 in three sets: 25-22, 25-23 and 25-19.
Heather Suter led the team in kills with 15 while Lylnsey Casteel added seven, and Alison Clegg, three. Senior Katie Klages scored 12 points in the contest with two aces; Whitney Williams scored eight and one ace; Suter added seven points; Christy Jones, six; and Sami Jones had five.
Keri Suter had 59 sets and 19 assists in the game while Torrye Cline had four sets and one assist.
At Paden City on Oct. 29, the Lady Knights took on Jefferson Christian and defeated them in two, 25-5 and 25-14.
Heather Suter totaled 18 points in the game with four aces and four kills. Klages scored 11 points, two aces; and Williams had two points, one ace. Keri Suter scored four points, had 32 good sets and nine assists and Cline had eight sets and three assists.
Against the home team, Paden City, Tyler Consolidated fared well, taking the win in three sets: 21-25, 25-22 and 25-17.
Klages and Heather Suter each scored 15 points apiece in the win with Suter connecting on five aces and Klages on three. Sami Jones scored four points; Christy Jones scored four; and Williams, two.
Casteel was credited with 11 kills; Heather Suter, nine; and Clegg, six.
Keri Suter had 62 good sets and 26 assists in the game.
The Lady Knights began Sectional play on Tuesday in New Martinsville, taking on the Lady Blue Eagles of Magnolia in the first round.
