Lady Wildcats win over Lady Pilots

Paden City’s Lady Wildcat varsity volleyball team only played one game last week, with the Lady Pilots of River.

The Green and White added to the plus side of their season record (21-5), by defeating River 25-15; 25-13; and 25-21. Amanda Sellers led all scorers for the ‘Cats with 11 points and an ace. Alli Bertozzi scored 10 points and had four aces; Dominique Craft, nine points, three aces; Amber Palmer had five points and an ace; and Amanda Tallman and Megan Cutlip added two points apiece.

Bertozzi upped her kill percentage yet again with 16 kills in the game. Tallman had eight; Craft, two; and Palmer and Heasley each had one kill.

Sellers had 31 good sets and 19 assists while Palmer set the ball 23 times and had seven assists.

The Wildcats will play in the OVAC tournament on Oct. 17 at Steubenville High School. Paden City (seeded number two) is scheduled to face off with Trinity (number three) on court two at 9 a.m. Finals in each class will be played immediately following the semi-finals in each class.

The Lady Wilcats will play at Tyler Consolidated on Oct. 20.
