Jr. golf camp is planned at CC

By Staff | May 29, 2013

NET DONATED TO WILDCATS -- tone Energy recently donated funds to purchase a net above the backstop at Paden City Park where the high school plays their games. The net will hopefully reduce the number of baseballs hit into the river from foul tips during the games. The Wildcat team and coaches, pictured above, appreciate the donation from Stone.

The Tyler Consolidated High School Knights Golf team and Sistersville Country Club will host a Knights Junior Golf Camp for boys and girls entering grades three through eight this fall. The camp will be held in the evenings on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, June 17-18-19, 2013, from 6 – 8:30 p.m. at the Country Club.

The director will be Joe Griffith, Silver Knight Golf Coach, assisted by members of the Knight golf team and members of Sistersville Country Club.

Instruction will include an introduction to the game of golf, instruction in various shots involved in a round of golf, and an introduction to the rules and etiquette of golf.

For their $25 registration fee, each student will also receive a camp T-shirt, a rules booklet, a bag of tees and a sleeve of golf balls. To be assured of a proper T-shirt size, please register before June 6.

To register, contact Coach Griffith: leave a message at 304-652-5191, or contact him at the high school until June 6 at 304-758-9000, Ext. 186.
