Lighthouse Child Advocacy Center

By Staff | Nov 22, 2021

Letter to the Editor:

The Lighthouse Child Advocacy Center staff and Board of Directors would like to express our sincere appreciation to all who attended our October 21st Open House & Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at our new location – 261 Monroe Avenue, New Martinsville. We thoroughly enjoyed connecting and reconnecting with so many individuals, partner organizations, team members, stakeholders, government officials, and friends of the CAC. We would also like to thank Reisbeck’s, Pizza Hut, and Katrina Byers for helping us provide refreshments, the Wetzel Tyler Chamber of Commerce for the ribbon cutting ceremony, and those who sent treats, flowers, and well wishes. You are all greatly appreciated!

The Lighthouse Child Advocacy Center has been around since 2008, and has experienced tremendous growth in the last five years. Due to this growth, looking for a permanent home for the child advocacy center became a necessary priority. The remarkable support of the Wetzel County Commission and our donors allowed us to purchase this property in February 2021. Additionally, the generous support of the Tyler County Commission provided the means to make our building a safe, private, and friendly place for the children and families we serve. On July 1, 2021, the CAC relocated to our new facility without disrupting the essential services we provide to Wetzel and Tyler Counties. Both County Commissions have been absolutely vital supporters of our growth throughout the years. Each time we speak with them, they demonstrate how much they care for our mission, child survivors of abuse, families, and our community; we are forever grateful for their continuous support.
