From Susan Pelikan
To The Editor,
Thank you to all who have joined the Adams House Ministries over the last 14 years as we’ve had the opportunity to serve our neighbors in Tyler County. These are your neighbors, individuals and families that might live next door to you or be a complete stranger, might sit next to you in church or be a part of your own family. Life has its many ups and downs; at any time, any of us could use a leg up. Anyone in need seeking assistance can call upon the Adams House Ministries. We see a continuous need to serve our neighbors. God calls each of us… “Since there will never cease to be some in need on the Earth, I therefore command you, ‘Open your hand to the poor and the needy in your land.” (Deut. 15:11). The awareness of the need to serve as God has commanded has been recognized by many individuals, organizations, and churches in our county and outside our county. We have faithful monthly monetary donors and generous one time donors. School clubs, civic organizations, and churches have donated boxes and boxes of food items. Witschey’s has organized food drives for customers to participate in, along with providing a cart for individuals to put food items in. We benefited from the Flu Shot Drive at Phillips Drug that many of you participated in. It is a blessing to work in cooperation with our local pharmacies, grocery stores, gas stations, and utilities to help meet the neighbor’s needs. Without this awareness and generosity of money, time, services, and prayers, the Adams House Ministries would struggle to serve all those in need. Lisa and I are truly blessed to serve this ministry and these neighbors. We have the opportunity to see God in action every day. Thank you for hearing God’s command, opening your hands and hearts and blessing this ministry.
Bless you All,
Susan Pelikan, Director, Adams House Ministries
