From Kathy Herndon
The Tyler county Community Resources, Inc (CRI) would like to re-introduce ourselves to its operations in empowering families and strengthening the community by providing leadership, education, resources and opportunities that assist in improving the quality of life.
CRI is a community action agency that was established in 1986 and provides Family Development/Case Management, Emergency Assistance/Crisis Intervention, Weatherization Assistance and Federal and State income tax preparation.
The primary mission of the agency is to work with individuals in the community that are in crisis, low income situations, homeless, residing in adequate housing and other situations that prevent them from being self-sufficient and contributing members of the community.
CRI thrives on empowering individuals and families of Tyler County. Services are used in a variety of ways in conjunction with plans and goals that are established with those we work with to move them towards self-sufficiency or to improve their quality-of-living. These plans include education to obtain accountability and other measures that will attempt to motivate the recipients’ to make life changes and better choices allowing less or not dependent on assistance services in the future.
CRI and I would greatly appreciate any organizations willing to join us in networking closely with the local DHHR offices and religious organizations to assist us in empowering and improving the lives of individuals and families in Tyler County.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. I look forward to relationships being built to strengthen the Tyler Community.
